Description

The Ball Drop Multi-Stage Frac System has been largely applied in tight oil and gas reservoir and the fracture system is a complete service providing new options for completing horizontal multi-stage wellbores stimulation. The work string is made up of the following tools: Running Tool, Tieback Sub, Hanger Packer, Open Hole Packer, Ball Drop Sleeve, Differential Sleeve, Activation Sub and Float Shoe. The system is conveyed by drill pipe, drop a ball to close the Activation Sub and build up pressure to set the open hole packer and hanger packer. The liner is disconnected by right-hand rotating. While fracturing, use the tubing to tieback, then build up pressure to open the Differential Sleeve and execute the first fracture treatment. After this, drop balls grade by grade to open ball drop sleeves and achieve multi stage fracture.

Running Tool
Description
The Running Tool is designed to run the liner into the designed depth of the hole. After reaching the targeted position, the liner could be disconnected by right-hand rotation.

Hanger Packer
Description
The Hanger Packer is run in hole by running tool on drill pipe. The Hanger Packer is used to hang a whole liner string and provides effective sealing strength on the top.

Re-Closeable Ball Drop Sleeve
Description
The Re-Closeable Ball Drop Sleeve is a critical part of Ball Drop Multi-Stage Fracture System, which is activated by dropping balls in sequence from surface, from the smallest one to the largest, the frac balls land on a corresponding ball seat shifting the targeted sleeve open, providing flow path for fracturing treatment. The sleeves could be selectively shifted closed or open after drilling out the corresponding ball seats.

Activation Sub
Description
The Activation Sub is called wellbore isolation valve or setting ball seat. The Activation Sub is connected to the lower end of the casing string and it is used to provide fluid flow path while running into the hole. When a ball is dropped at surface, the Activation Sub closes the flow path and the packer would be set.

Float Shoe
Description
The Float Shoe attaches to the lowest end of the casing string and is used to guide the casing string into the wellbore. The check valve inside the Float Shoe prevents the flow of annulus fluids into the casing during the running process.

Tie Back Sub
Description
The Tieback Sub is used to tieback the tubing before fracture. When the tubing is lowered to the top of the liner hanger packer, it enters into the receptacle, allowing sealing and anchoring.
