Description

General description
GRIFCO-5070 Compensated Neutron Sub composed of a 16 Ci Am-Be R/A source, He3 Long space and Short space detectors and its circuitry, can be run either in cased hole or in open hole. The neutron source emits 4×107 fast neutrons per second, fast neutrons are slowed down after collisions with the surrounding, the number of neutrons reaching the detectors are counted and these counts directly reflects the amount of hydrogen atoms present in the formation; the measurement is scaled in porosity units (Pu).
